"Up for the Cup" - The FA Cup comes to St. John's!
On Monday February 7th 2005, representatives of the Football Association, together with the UK's most famous footballing trophies, visited St John's Primary. St John's was chosen as the proud winner of the FA's national
"Up for the Cup" programme for schools.
"Up For The Cup" brings the excitement of The FA Cup competition into the classroom.
Steeped in history and reaching every corner of the country, The FA Cup is an exciting and motivating platform from which to deliver key curriculum subjects in new and exciting ways.
The 'Up For The Cup' resource packs includes a range of fun learning exercises to support the National Curriculum for History, Science, Geography, Art, and Design Technology and the framework for PSHE and Citizenship at Key Stage 2.
Other FA Competition activities for Mathematics and English are based on the Literacy and Numeracy strategies. Science is also supported with brand new resources based around healthy eating and fitness.
There is also a special FA Cup Competition for 2005 - inviting pupils to design their own FA Cup Final Matchball!
Not only did the FA Cup come to St. John's but the FA Trophy too!
