History.

History is concerned with former times and the study and interpretation of the past.  It is associated with the notion of change and investigations into cause and event.  It is important that children learn to appreciate the treasures of the past.

At St. John’s school we aim to stimulate the children to be inquisitive about and critical of the past, to develop a feeling of empathy and moral awareness, and to develop interpretation skills so that they can make judgements and justify theories and conclusions based on evidence.
