The Woking Schools Confederation

The Woking Schools Confederation is a confederation of all 33 schools and PRU's in the Borough of Woking.  This includes 4 secondary schools, 2 pupil referral units and 1 school for pupils with special educational needs. We are all working together to raise standards of achievement and attainment across the 3 - 19 age ranges through the “Extended Service in and around Schools” agenda as laid out by the Government. The Confederation came together in late 2006.

STATEMENT OF VISION

Extended schools services across the borough will give every child and young person the chance to be safe, healthy, happy, creative and have personal confidence, skills and opportunities to contribute and achieve more than they thought possible.

OBJECTIVES

As a confederation of schools we will provide a range of services and activities beyond the school day to help meet the needs of our learners, their families and the wider community. Extended schools will provide more opportunities for learners to take courses and engage in activities that match their strengths and interests.

This will be done through meeting the Extended Schools Core Offer as follows:

  • Available across the confederation, but not at every site
  • Transport universally available

2. VARIED MENU OF ACTIVITIES

  • Enrichment activities for curriculum and sport
  • Business and enterprise activities

3. PARENTING SUPPORT

  • Information sessions for parents at transition points
  • Parenting programmes run in conjunction with other services across the confederation
  • Family learning sessions

4. SWIFT AND EASY REFERRAL

  • Access to a wide range of support services across agencies

5. COMMUNITY ACCESS
